
Glendola Leisure was founded in 1973 by Peter Salussolia who is the Chairman of the Company. Peter Salussolia is also the Group Managing Director and Chairman of The Foundation Group of Companies Limited. The estate has since expanded and now employs over 500 staff in venues throughout the UK. Glendola and its sister company HMI, turns over £65 million and is currently investing a third of this figure on further expansion. Alex Salussolia, is the Managing Director of Glendola and joined the company in 1992 initially as an Area Manager, progressing to operations and then Managing Director eight years later. In this time the business has grown from £5million to £27million. Alex came up with the idea of Waxy O’Connor’s, one of the UK’s first super pubs and was pivotal in bringing the Rainforest Café franchise to London. In 2007 Glendola commenced on a £20 million expansion plan in Casual Dining which started with the acquisition of The Watermark at Port Solent in Portsmouth and will see the acquisition of a number of businesses throughout London and the South Coast over the next five years. Glendola Leisure has also won the Publican Pub Company of the Year award in 1996 and again in 2004 and has held the Investors In People national training standard since 1994. |
